Pay it Forward this weekend

Last night I was looking through my coupon binder and noticed there is a huge amount of coupons that will expire this weekend, some on the Oct 31 and some on Nov 1st. Such a shame to see so many coupons going to the big recycle bin in the sky.

When you're out and about on your weekend shopping trips, why don't you place some coupons beside some items that people could use. Last weekend a woman stopped me in the air freshener aisle in Walmart talking about my coupon binder and (long story short) I ended up giving her 2 $4 Frebreze coupons. I swear, you would have thought that I took $20 out of my wallet and gave it to her. She was so thrilled, thanked me a bunch of times, went and told her friend and then they proceeded to pick out 2 Frebreze Noticeables. And it made me feel good to.

My husband didn't understand it but that was ok. He didn't understand why I didn't just use them myself (even though I already had 6 in my cart). A small gesture that costs you nothing may make someone else feel like they hit the jackpot.

I have some diaper coupons and I don't have any babies so I think I will make a special trip over to the baby aisle this weekend and place some diaper, wipes, formula coupons and make someone smile. Just like it will make me smile.

Ok, the savings were awesome but I still left totally mad and upset. I had the cashier from hell today. She was, of course, a younger girl/woman. My husband picked her because he thought she looked nice....uh huh! It started off pretty quick when she was about to put through a $3 Chef Michael's dog food coupon. "I can't use this coupon". I asked why and she told me it expired yesterday. Gee, I didn't realize it was already November, as the coupon expires 11/23. Ok, that aside she got a beep for the Rolaids $4/2. It said not to used on trial size, she said it was a trial size, I told her it was not so she called over a 'manager'. Well, I couldn't use that coupon, $1 trial Tide, $1 trial Crest, $1 trial All because 'they have to be the size pictured'. HUH?? I told her it goes by the text, not the picture but nope, she wouldn't take it. Then I had $1.50 Ponds for the trial, $3/2 Arm n Hammer...well they couldn't be used because the coupons were too much for the items. I asked her to adjust them down...nope, "we can't do that". Of course, I didn't have the coupon policy with me.

I left there and told my husband that if this had been my first time to Target I never would have gone back!

I emailed Target when I got home and I did quickly get an email back (I was amazed) apologizing for the treatment, along with a copy of the coupon policy. In the email they even gave me their phone number and told me if I had that problem again not to hesitate to call them, right from the store, with case number to keep track.

Now hubby wants to go back next weekend with 'a bunch of coupons' to see if the same thing happens. He's hoping for it I think...lol.

Some freebies I got int he mail this week. I got more to be honest with you but I didn't take pics. I think I got all of this on one day, Tuesday. You can see cookbooks from Jiffy. Kellogg's rebate check. Alouette free crumble cheese and more coupons for this in books. Trade in old electronics for Christmas cash

A couple weeks ago I was browsing the internet and somehow stumble on a website called NextWorth. I had an old digital camera sitting around so I thought I'd look it up to see what I might get for it. Today I got the code for an Amazon gift card for $40.

So far, in the past 4 months I've added about $200 into my account on Amazon through NextWorth and Swagbucks.

So, if you have an old cell phone, digital camera, camcorder, iPod, GPS system and other electronics that you are looking to get rid of, why not earn some money doing it? It's a great way to get some extra Christmas cash.

From the time I sent my camera in until I got the email with Amazon gift certificate code was about 10 business days. Honestly, I wish I had something else worth money to trade in. I put a couple old cell phones in the search bar and the amount they wanted to pay me for them was way to low, so just know you won't get top dollar but I did get more on here than I would have on Ebay.

Oh yeah, one more thing. You can get Amazon gift e-certificates, Target gift cards or the cash deposited into your Paypal account. I just chose Amazon because I'm trying to build a stockpile of $$ in there for when all the really good Christmas sales start.
