Going to the Dog Park with #DogCollarCharms

IMG_0233
I had such a great time giving my dog a new charm from Dog Collar Charms I couldn't help but to go the dog park and try to give out a couple of them to other friendly 'puppies'.
I went, with my dog to a local (well, not too local but it was a nice day for a drive anyway) dog park and we went looking for some friends. You know, I was surprised how many people didn't have their dogs on collars and leashes at the dog park, but then again, I guess that's the idea, right? This was my first time at a dog park so it was all new to me.
This dog, a Rottweiller, was the sweetest dog ever. My little dog was totally afraid of him but he was such a sweet heart. I was able to get this picture of him before he ran off to play frisbee with another dog, but boy, he was gorgeous! I didn't even have time to talk to his owner about giving a charm.

Then there was this Australian Shepard. Oh my gosh she was a beauty, as you can see. She was one of the very few dogs (along with mine) that actually had collar and leash on. I talked to her owner for a bit and asked if she wanted a Dog Collar Charm. She thought they were so pretty, and she happened to be a Texas Rangers fan so it all worked out great. She didn't want to put it on then and there though because she was about to leave. Of course, I didn't push the matter.

We walked around some more to find Jazzy, this energetic little Jack Russell Terrier. Talk about a bundle of energy. She and my dog got along great so they played ball and tug of war for a while so I was able to talk to her owner for a little while. I showed her the Dog Collar Charm and she thought it was so cute. She gladly accepted it but wanted to pay me for it. It took some convincing for her to just take it as a gift (people just don't do that kind of thing anymore I guess) for her dog but she did.

After Jazzy was done playing in the dirt she even put it on her collar so I could take a quick picture of it. I wish I had a better picture of her too with it on, but, let me tell you, trying to get a Jack Russell to sit still for more than 5 seconds straight isn't the easiest thing to do.

It was a great day at the park and I was able to tell a lot of people about the Dog Collar Charms because they heard me talking to Jazzy's owner. I think I wrote down the website address at least 15 times. I really think they, at least most of them, will take a look at the website and order their little doggies their own charm. One woman actually said she had a big cat at home that she was going to buy one for. Who knows, maybe Cat Collar Charms is next?

Oh, and check out my video review of this that I posted on Expotv.com.

My lucky dog got a new #DogCollarCharms

I was very lucky recently to participate a shop to spread the word about something called Dog Collar Charms. Now, I had never heard of these before so I was very interested to find out what new little blingy thing I could get for one of my four legged family members.
The first thing I did was go to the website and check it out. Very cute. Very interesting. Very complicated? Not at all.

I went on the website and read about what I had to do. It was easy. I just had to pick a picture I liked to put on the charm for my dog, upload the picture from my computer, pick a border color and click....order. It's almost silly how easy it is.

And this is what I got in the mail less than a week later. Aren't they cute? You know I had to pick something with the Texas Rangers on it. In the picture of my dog, Sophie, there is my son and Derek Holland, his favorite Texas Rangers pitcher.

To say the least, I love these and would highly recommend them for anyone who has a dog of their own or has someone on their gift list that they never know what to buy for, but they have a dog. I know I would love it if someone bought one of these for one of my dogs. Head on over the Dog Collar Charms and check it out.

Here is a detailed look at my shop for the #DogCollarCharms if you want to take a look.

Shopping for Elations at Walmart #healthyjoints

Ok, as a lot of people do, I have problems with my knees. I've never really done anything about it, contributing it to age (42), weight (too much) and whatever else. I was given the opportunity recently, by Collective Bias, to look for a product called Elations at Walmart. It is a drink used for healthier joints. To be honest, I've never even looked for this kind of thing before so I had to go online to the Elations website to see what I was looking for. Now that I know what it looks like I've seen it everywhere.
At Walmart it was on the bottom shelf but at my local grocery store it was on the top shelf in the healthcare aisle (the top shelf is actually my eye level too).
Of course, the first thing I always do is check my coupon binder for coupons. I had some for other products like the Elations but there were none for Elations, which was a bummer.
They were not hard to find at Walmart. It was on the bottom shelf though, which, in my opinion, makes it harder to find things because you never tend to look on the bottom shelf much.
When I brought it home, the Elations packets, I mixed a packet with a 20oz bottle of water. It was very, very sweet so I might try it with a bigger glass or bottle of water next time to dilute it a bit more.
It has Condroiton and Glucosamine in it, which is great for joint health. My mother used to take the pills for her hip before she had hip replacement surgery so this would have been great for her.
I will continue to use it, I think to see if it does help my knee. My son also has problems with his knees so I might see if he wants to try some too.

I'm helping to end child hunger, are you? #childhungerendshere

CHILD HUNGER ENDS HERE! BLOGGER CORRESPONDENT

Did you know that nearly 1 in 4 kids in America struggles with hunger? Me either. I think we tend to think of other countries before our own, when it comes to child hunger. When I heard about this, I felt I had to do something about it, even something small.

Yesterday I went to Walmart to look for the ConAgra foods that have the special label to help end child hunger. It was part of a campaign with Collective Bias that I am proud to be a part of.
So, off I went with my list in hand to find the specially marked items. What are they, you ask?
Peter Pan Peanut Butter, Banquet Frozen Meals, Kid Cuisine, Healthy Choice Soup, Healthy Choice Fresh Mixers, Healthy Choice Steamers, Chef Boy Ardee Raviolli, and Marie Callenders Frozen Meals.

I bought all of these items and then I went to the website Child Hunger Ends Here and entered codes that came off the labels. For each 8 digit code you enter a monetary donation will be made enabling one meal to be provided through Feeding America's network of food banks, up to a maximum of 2.5 million meals through 8/30/11.After you go to the website and enter codes, you will get coupons for these items too.

I'm going to go back to Walmart on the weekend and buy some more of these items and enter some more codes so I can help more people. It's a small to price to pay and I'm willing to pay it, are you?

If you click on the link below, you will see my shop that I went on at Walmart.

I just posted about a great new coupon and deal on Nivea body wash using printable coupons at Redplum.com but there is more. I also printed these new coupons:

$2 off any Sally Hansen Beauty Tool ($3 or more)
$2 off any Garnier Moisturizer or Cleanser
$1 off any Aquafresh Kids toothbrush
$1 off 2 boxes of Cap'n Crunch cereal

There are more new ones but these are the ones that caught my attention!

Nivea $3 coupon on RedPlum makes body wash cheap or even Free

It has been reported that not only is there a $3 coupon in the Sunday 4/17 RedPlum newspaper insert but you will be happy to know there is also 2 at redplum.com. I just printed off 2 coupons for the men's and 2 coupons for the women's bodywash, $3 each. This should make it free at most Walmarts right now and only $.88 at CVS. Can't wait to go shopping this morning!!

Tron Legacy review for #couchcritics

I did not see the first Tron movie that came out in the 80's so I wasn't sure if I would 'get' this one but as far as I can tell, one really doesn't much to do with the other. You can follow this one and never wonder about what happened in the first movie.

Tron Legacy stars Jeff Bridges, who reprises his role as Kevin Flynn, a software engineer, who disappeared 20 years ago. Garrett Hedlund plays his son, Sam, who always wondered what happened to him. Olivia Wilde stars as Quorra, who is in the same digital world as Kevin.
At the core, this is a family "I love you" kind of movie where the father and son grow to know and love and trust each other when Sam finds himself being portalled into the world where his father disappeared to. Together they must find a way to get back to the real world, but are kept from getting there by Kevin's clone, who wants to go to the real world himself.
The movie is dark with a lot of neon lights (would be great on a big screen) so it's pretty cool to watch. The action sequences are much louder than the other parts so it demands your attention, which is worthwhile. The graphics are amazing, especially when you learn (or eventually realize) that the younger version of Jeff Bridges character is actually computer animated. I wouldn't have noticed it as much if I didn't notice the way the mouth moved, just like a lot of the characters in my sons' video games.
It was a long movie, clocking in at nearly 2 hours. I must admit though, that it did hold my attention the whole time.
As far as the remainder of story line goes, remember that when you create a clone to do things for you, it never turns out like you think it will. And another thing I took from it...don't ever take a sunrise for granted.

Did I enjoy the movie? Hmm, well, I didn't not like it, if that makes any sense, but I didn't love it either. My 19 and 11 year old sons watched it with me and they felt the same. I do know that if you've seen the first one and liked it, you will certainly like the second one. Before buying it though, I would rent it for $1 at Redbox first, just in case.
