I Am Number Four Redbox rental review with #familymeals made from ConAgra foods

Recently I headed to Walmart to get a few groceries with my hubby and daughter and decided to stop at the Redbox and get a movie. I'd been wanting to see the movie 'I Am Number Four' so I thought today was as good a day as any. We ended up having to go to two Redbox's to find it but we did.
Now, I'm a sucker for romance of any kind in any movie setting and my son said it did have a little bit of romance in it (he saw in the theathers when it was out and liked it...he's 19, I'm ..well, I'm older, and we both liked it) and that I should like it.

This movie stars Alex PettyferTimothy Olyphant,Teresa PalmerDianna AgronKevin Durand, and Callan McAuliffe. The film is based on the novel I Am Number Four, written by Jobie Hughes and James Frey. It is classified as 'teen action, science fiction. You will know Dianna Agron from Glee. Timothy Olyphant (the main reason I wanted to see this movie) plays Henri, the Guardian/protector of the young alien named John Smith (Pettyfer). John Smith is Number Four of Nine Loriens, who were sent to this planet to hide from the Mogadorians, who are essentially the bad guys out to kill the young saviors of the planet (the 9). The first 3 of the 9 have been killed, in order, and young John Smith is next. He and his protector leave the town they are staying in when they find out the third of nine has been killed. They go to a town called Paradise where Henri decides that John must stay at home all the time, but of course he has other ideas.
John enrolls in high school where he meets, all in the same day, his love interest (Agron), a nerdy friend (McAuliffe) and the (as in any movie about high school) the high school quarterback who is a real jerk. There is a lot of 'stuff' in the middle, (including John acquiring and learning how to use his powers) which is done nicely, but the last 45 minutes of the movie will keep you on the edge of your seat.
The last almost half of the movie is very fast paced and you feel like it's the climax of the movie over and over again. Very nicely done.
Of course, the good guys win, but we all know that will happen. I will say that I was very unhappy with the way things happened with Timothy Olyphant's character, but.....oh well.
It is set up however, for a sequel, which I would go to, for sure.
Oh, and one more thing...one spoiler so if you don't want to read it stop here. If you want to see the spoiler, highlight the text following ....right now......the dog is fine
If you want to see a trailer of the film go here.

Just a side note about the Walmart I went to. This was the first time I had been to this particular Walmart and it was gorgeous. Yes, gorgeous is the right word. My daughter and I could not get over how big and clean it was and the amount of produce and meats. So much better than our normal Walmart, but then again, this one is in Dallas, not in the smaller town we usually go to. Dang, I could go there all the time if it wasn't an hour away. The floors were spotless. The aisles were all labeled. There was even a 'go right for pet supplies, go left for hardware' etc sign. Loved that!

Now, after going to Walmart, buying some groceries yesterday, including some items from ConAgra foods, I decided to see what I could make for lunch today (the next day) that would appeal to everyone in my house. I noticed that I already have quite a few things in my house made by ConAgra but I stuck with some pasta, Hunts seasoned canned tomatoes, Hebrew National beef hot dogs and a bit of Parkay margarine. It was quite good. Just take a look at the slide show at the bottom of this post to see how much the little 2 year old I babysit likes it.

  1. Too funny - looking at the different things you'd take with you and what you wouldn't on a dessert island. Hunt's tomatoes? Hmmm...then you could make spaghetti with a pomodoro sauce (my favorits and EXACTLY what I'd bring if I was stranded).
