Over time, as parents we evolve. I remember when my 1st child was born I was so young myself. I was 21 years old and so 'green' and didn't know what to do with my life. Now, in a couple of days, she will turn 20. It's hard to look at her and imagine how different her life is than mine was.
She was born when I was 21, my second child was born when I was 22 and my 'baby' was born when I was 29. What a difference a few years makes.
When she was born I was so naive, now I'm an adult, who has evolved and become more confident, more in control of my life. At 21 I let others tell me what was good for me and my kids, now I make the decisions. I am in control of my life and what I do and when I do it. It's a good feeling.
Something else? I used to live in Canada and now I live in Texas. That's a big lifestyle change, let me tell you. I went from living cold cold in the winter to being hot hot in the summer. I'll take that trade. No snow. I love living in Texas. The lifestyle is more different than anyone could have imagined but I do love it. After 7 years I'm still finding new things to discover and I love that so much.
