New Pepsi coupons with CVS 10/2 deal
I was looking at the early edition release of the CVS flyer for this weekend 10/2 and noticed a great deal to go along with the coupons I just blogged about. Buy $15 of PepsiCo products and get $5 back. You could use the $1/4 Lipton Tea and get them for $.75 each, the $2/2 Lipton 12 packs and get them for $4 each, even the $1/2 Fritos/Cheetos coupon to get them for $2.50 each. My mom is coming for a visit in October and she loves the Lipton teas so I might have to get her some. I love it when coupons come out at a perfect time.
Pepsi, Sierra Mist, Sobe coupons!! Wow!!
Wow! How often do you see this? Pepsi, Sierra Mist, Iced Tea, Sun Chips, Sobe..... All kinds of junk food coupons. My favorite of these? Sun Chips. My goodness, I love these. Click here so you can print the ones you want. They are Smartsource coupons and the zipcode used is 19057.

Eat at Cici's Pizza for $3.99
A great coupon for going to Cici's Pizza with your family. On the website it says "if you have $5 and some change" you can eat at Cici's Pizza. There is a coupon out now that is good until 10/9 for $3.99. Hey a couple extra $$ in my pocket is better than in Cici's pocket, right? Click here for the pdf coupon.
Filippo Berio Olive Oil $1.50 coupon
This is the Featured Deal today on Redplum. Olive Oil is generally pretty expensive so if you're a lover of it, like I am, this is a great coupon. It's good for 3 months, which should be plenty of time to find a good sale for this. Go to Redplum quick to print yours today. It's at the top right of the page.
Burger King meal deal coupon!!
I went to Redplum this morning, as I do most mornings and found a coupon I've never seen before. A coupon for Burger King! Family Bundle for $9.99. It expires 10/9 so if you're going to Burger King any time soon, this is a great budget saver! I used 75169 for my zipcode but it looks like it's available everywhere. Go to Redplum and print yours out before it's gone!
Cat's Pride coupon on Facebook
I have 9 cats (yes, you read that right, 9 cats....no crazy cat lady jokes...lol) so any time I can get a cat litter coupon I'm a happy crazy cat lady camper.
Like Cat's Pride on Facebook and print out a $1/1 coupon. Cat's Pride is already one of the less expensive cat litters so this should really be great! I'm going to go and print mine out right now!!

MY Texas Rangers win, Angels lose, Rangers AL West Champs!
Last night I stayed up as long as I could. I watched Craig Gentry hit that inside the park homerun (frickin' awesome!) to help the Rangers win their game against the Mariner's. That put their magic number at 1. The Angels were playing against the A's and if the A's won that would clinch the Rangers spot in the post season. When I went to bed it was tied 1-1. I put it on the channel in my bedroom, that would tell me if the Rangers clinched but I couldn't stay awake anymore. This morning, I woke up to these emails...........
Woo hoo!! MY Rangers are going to the post season. They went all the way to the World Series last year but unfortunately came up short. This year...... well, you know what I'm saying.
If you would like to get yourself some nifty 2011 AL West Division Champs gear (which I plan to do) click here for further information. Also, single game tickets go on sale this morning for the ALCS. I wish I could afford to go but I can't so.....if you can, click here for more info on that. Even though I can't afford to go to the games personally, I will be watching every single of the post game, which starts Friday, September 30th. I don't know who they're playing yet but GO! RANGERS! GO!!
Buy 3 get 1 Avocado free coupon
I love avocados, plain and simple. Before I moved to Texas 8+ years ago I had never even seen one. Now I eat them on burgers, on sandwiches, in salad, as guacamole, and all by themselves. They're one of my favorite things. So this coupon is perfect for me. How about you? Click here to print your coupon. I was only able to print it once, unfortunately, but once is better that not at all.

Texas Rangers magic number is now 4
Go to mlb.com to see the full story |
Tonight my favorite pitcher C.J. Wilson (follow him on twitter) is taking to the mound. He already has 16 wins this year and will go for his 17th tonight. C.J is fun to follow on twitter because he tweets a lot and always has a lot to say. He's fun, plain and simple. We met him one time at a 'meet the player' day at the ballpark and he took the time to take a picture with my son and with my son and daughter. Plain and simple...I love C.J. Wilson!
Go! Rangers! Go!!

MY Texas Rangers, closing in on the Pennant
Derek Holland |
Ok, just so you know, I love MY Texas Rangers. I have not missed a game for the last two years. I've either watched them in person (not nearly enough times this year, for sure) or on tv. Right now the magic number is 5 for them to clench the Pennant for the American League West. The Rangers have to win and/or the Los Angeles Angels have to lose any combination of 5 games for the Rangers to clench.
Derek Holland is the starting pitcher tonight against Oakland and let's just say...well, I love him. He is posing for a picture with my son in the above picture. This picture was taken the same day Derek Holland made his major league debut at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. He was so sweet and because of that, not mention that the guy can sling a ball, he's become a favorite of our family.
Long story short, I'm looking forward to the game tonight and I hope The Rangers can win, cutting that number of games down from 5 to at least 4!
Go! Rangers! Go!!

Where to stay in Destin, FL: Ciboney Condos were awesome!
Before I start, please know I am NOT getting any kind of compensation for this post. I just had such a wonderful time here, I wanted to share.
We went to Destin Florida last week for a mini family vacation and even though the beach and the sand were amazing, the condo we stayed in tied for top billing. The name of the condo complex was Ciboney Condos and it was a perfect home away from home. It was bright and sunny and beachy...perfect.
It had a full kitchen with stove, fridge, dishwasher, pantry, etc. This one in particular had 2 full bedrooms, 1 with a kingsize bed and one with 2 twin beds, and it also had a room with bunkbeds. The couch also folded out to a double bed so you could easily sleep 7 people in this condo.
There were 2 full bathrooms, which is awesome when you have 5 people like we had. Let's not forget that there was a full living room with a hdtv, and tv's in each of the bedrooms too.
The balcony...ahh, the balcony. We sat out there every night and morning, listening to the waves crash...it was wonderful.
You could see the beach from the balcony and there was a personal entrance to our section of the beach, with and umbrella and 2 beach chairs included with the rental.
What else can I say? I loved this place. (If I hadn't come down with an abscessed tooth in the afternoon of day 2 it would have been even better :( )
Anyway, I just thought I would let everyone know what a great place this is and I highly suggest it. Here is the website and the booking information.

Enjoy the view from Destin Florida
It took 12 hours of driving yesterday but it was worth it. My view right now...

Destin, Florida, we'll be there soon!
I'm hoping to a lot of this the next few days. We're leaving at 3:30am on Friday and expecting to get to Destin around dinner time. The next 2 days will be beachy, sunny, vacationy and family-y. I'm so excited. Since moving to Texas 8 1/2 years ago I have not left the state. We have vacationed in Texas to Galveston and San Antonio, and I loved both places (chomping at the bit to go back to Galveston because we were only there for 24 hours!) but it will be an adventure for us to travel to Florida.
Busy day ahead so don't expect to hear much from me today. I'll be back on Tuesday. Woooo hoooo!!!

Rambling on a Saturday afternoon: Canada vs USA: Things I love edition
For those of you who don't know, I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada, close to Ottawa (shame on you if you've never heard of the nation's capitol!). I came to Texas, close to Dallas, 8 1/2 years ago. I have not been back to visit yet but am planning to do it either in the spring or summer of 2012. That got me thinking: What do I miss about Canada and what would I miss about Texas?
I miss the fall colors of Canada so much. There is nothing like driving down the highway and everywhere you look it's red, gold and orange. There are 2 colors in Texas, green and brown. I mean, seriously, look at how beautiful that picture is. I took it in the fall of 2002.
I miss the healthcare system likely more than anything else. When my kids were small I could take them to the doctor anytime and not worry about how much money I had in my pocket. My son was born 5 weeks early and had to spend his first 8 days in CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario) and it didn't cost anything out of pocket. I spent so much time at CHEO from the time was born until he had ear surgery when he was 2 that they knew the sound of my voice on the phone, no cost out of pocket. My daughter had bronchial pneumonia 4 times before the age of 5, no cost out of pocket. I miss my doctor sooo much. Sigh.
I miss Tim Hortons. Trust me, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts...none of them have anything on Tim Hortons.
I miss spring feeling like spring. In Canada, Spring is a time for renewal, fresh starts. It smells like spring. The snow melting and the new grass growing.....it's wonderful. In Texas, you have warm, warmer, hot, holy frig it's hot here, hot, warmer and warm. Mind you, that's also something I like about Texas.
I do not miss the snow in Canada, not even a little bit. Ok, maybe a light snow on Christmas Eve, but that's completely it. I hate snow. I hate how cold it is. I hate how wet it is. I hate how it gets slushy and dirty...yuck. I love that in Texas, on Thanksgiving, when I put up my Christmas lights, I can do it in shorts and at Christmas the biggest sweater I might need is a light hoodie.
I love the TexMex food in Texas. In Canada the only thing close to Mexican food was Taco Bell, and face it, that's not really Mexican food. Don't get me wrong, I like Taco Bell, but still. TexMex food in a mom and pop restaurant.....(mouth watering).
I love that I can drive down the highway in mid April and see Bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrush, Evening Primrose and Clover all over the place. Fields of color is fantastic.
I love MY Texas Rangers!! I love that I can go to a major league baseball game and feel like I'm sitting almost on the field. I love going to the games. I love watching the games on tv. I LOVE MY TEXAS RANGERS!!
I can coupon in Texas. Not the Extreme Couponing you see on tv, but when I have my mind set in the right place I can save my family a lot of money. They don't have coupons available like that in Canada. So I would certainly miss that .... a lot.
The history and places in Texas are awesome! I've been to San Antonio and love it there. Galveston is great too and I want to go back there so badly...sigh...maybe next year. South Padre Island is a dream destination for me too. Ok, I could still go to all these places no matter where I live, but they are closer to me this way.
Overall I love both places but right now my heart belongs to Texas because my wonderful hubby is here (why else do you think I would end up in Texas??). 2 out of my 3 kids will always be here in Texas, with me (my oldest son misses the snow and the cold and will likely either go back or move up North at some point) and will make their lives here.
Now, if Texas could just get a Tim Hortons.......
