I'm helping to end child hunger, are you? #childhungerendshere

CHILD HUNGER ENDS HERE! BLOGGER CORRESPONDENT

Did you know that nearly 1 in 4 kids in America struggles with hunger? Me either. I think we tend to think of other countries before our own, when it comes to child hunger. When I heard about this, I felt I had to do something about it, even something small.

Yesterday I went to Walmart to look for the ConAgra foods that have the special label to help end child hunger. It was part of a campaign with Collective Bias that I am proud to be a part of.
So, off I went with my list in hand to find the specially marked items. What are they, you ask?
Peter Pan Peanut Butter, Banquet Frozen Meals, Kid Cuisine, Healthy Choice Soup, Healthy Choice Fresh Mixers, Healthy Choice Steamers, Chef Boy Ardee Raviolli, and Marie Callenders Frozen Meals.

I bought all of these items and then I went to the website Child Hunger Ends Here and entered codes that came off the labels. For each 8 digit code you enter a monetary donation will be made enabling one meal to be provided through Feeding America's network of food banks, up to a maximum of 2.5 million meals through 8/30/11.After you go to the website and enter codes, you will get coupons for these items too.

I'm going to go back to Walmart on the weekend and buy some more of these items and enter some more codes so I can help more people. It's a small to price to pay and I'm willing to pay it, are you?

If you click on the link below, you will see my shop that I went on at Walmart.

New coupons on RedPlum

I just posted about a great new coupon and deal on Nivea body wash using printable coupons at Redplum.com but there is more. I also printed these new coupons:
$2 off any L'Oreal Paris eye product
$2 off any Sally Hansen Beauty Tool ($3 or more)
$2 off any Garnier Moisturizer or Cleanser
$1 off any Aquafresh Kids toothbrush
$1 off 2 boxes of Cap'n Crunch cereal

There are more new ones but these are the ones that caught my attention!

Nivea $3 coupon on RedPlum makes body wash cheap or even Free

It has been reported that not only is there a $3 coupon in the Sunday 4/17 RedPlum newspaper insert but you will be happy to know there is also 2 at redplum.com. I just printed off 2 coupons for the men's and 2 coupons for the women's bodywash, $3 each. This should make it free at most Walmarts right now and only $.88 at CVS. Can't wait to go shopping this morning!!

Tron Legacy review for #couchcritics

I did not see the first Tron movie that came out in the 80's so I wasn't sure if I would 'get' this one but as far as I can tell, one really doesn't much to do with the other. You can follow this one and never wonder about what happened in the first movie.

Tron Legacy stars Jeff Bridges, who reprises his role as Kevin Flynn, a software engineer, who disappeared 20 years ago. Garrett Hedlund plays his son, Sam, who always wondered what happened to him. Olivia Wilde stars as Quorra, who is in the same digital world as Kevin.
At the core, this is a family "I love you" kind of movie where the father and son grow to know and love and trust each other when Sam finds himself being portalled into the world where his father disappeared to. Together they must find a way to get back to the real world, but are kept from getting there by Kevin's clone, who wants to go to the real world himself.
The movie is dark with a lot of neon lights (would be great on a big screen) so it's pretty cool to watch. The action sequences are much louder than the other parts so it demands your attention, which is worthwhile. The graphics are amazing, especially when you learn (or eventually realize) that the younger version of Jeff Bridges character is actually computer animated. I wouldn't have noticed it as much if I didn't notice the way the mouth moved, just like a lot of the characters in my sons' video games.
It was a long movie, clocking in at nearly 2 hours. I must admit though, that it did hold my attention the whole time.
As far as the remainder of story line goes, remember that when you create a clone to do things for you, it never turns out like you think it will. And another thing I took from it...don't ever take a sunrise for granted.

Did I enjoy the movie? Hmm, well, I didn't not like it, if that makes any sense, but I didn't love it either. My 19 and 11 year old sons watched it with me and they felt the same. I do know that if you've seen the first one and liked it, you will certainly like the second one. Before buying it though, I would rent it for $1 at Redbox first, just in case.

My local Brookshire's is now doubling, tripling coupons!

I was out and about, doing my shopping today and came across a wonderful thing......

"Brookshire's now triples coupons up to $.39 and doubles coupons up to $.50." To 'normal' people that may not mean much but for me, living in a area that NO stores double and triple coupons, I was thrilled. I live close to one Brookshire's that does not do that, but in a town nearby that has the CVS and Walmart go to, the Brookshire's there is the new wonderful Brookshire's. In my opinion, if one store does it they should all do it...but I digress.

Anyway, just a small shout out and thank you to Brookshire's in Canton, Texas for making my day!!
